Dresser, WI Information

Founded in 1861 by Sam Dresser, the town was established as a junction site for railroads, and in the early twentieth century was established as a mining town with the addition of the Dresser Trap Rock Mines, which are still in operation today. The village of Dresser was incorporated in 1919, and in the 1950s the Trollhaugen Ski Area added to the attractions in the area.

The Dresser community hosts activities and community events for residents throughout the year, and the Twin Cities of St. Paul and Minneapolis are just 40 miles away, over the state line in Minnesota?a convenient distance for day trips for shopping and entertainment.

Education

Dresser is served by the school districts of Osceola and St. Croix. The town?s location affords easy access to higher education, with several universities and technical colleges located in Polk County and in the Twin Cities of Minnesota.

Real Estate

Over the year 2007, Dresser, WI real estate list prices have ranged from approximately $175,000 for a two bedroom home to anywhere between $200,000 and $400,000 for a three or four bedroom family residence. The average home listing price is $255,000.
