Like several St. Croix County villages, North Hudson is situated right alongside the St. Croix River, allowing for part of its landscape to be rather scenic. Highway 35 acts as the one major roadway that runs through the North Hudson community, which connects to Interstate 94 just a few short miles south of town. Outside of Hudson, other nearby communities include Northline and Sono Junction to the east and the unincorporated community of Houlton, which lies about 6 miles north on Highway 35.
