Somerset Homes for Sale

While the village of Somerset may be an established part of Western Wisconsin, the city of St. Paul, WI only sits about 20 minutes from town, helping make it one of the more convenient St. Croix County communities to call home if you’re looking to take advantage of all the big city amenities and attractions the nearby Twin Cities have to offer. Somerset initially grew thanks to its location along the Apple River, which enabled the logging industry to be a big part of the town’s history. But like in most St. Croix County communities along the riverways, logging eventually went by the wayside and now locals enjoy the Apple River for all its fabulous outdoor recreational opportunities.

Somerset’s Location

Somerset is located just north of Highway 64 with Highway 35 also running right through the middle of town. The city of New Richmond, which has a population of over 8,000 people, and the city of Stillwater, WI, which has a population of over 18,000 people and is widely considered to be one of the most charming and desirable communities in the entire upper-Midwest, are both only a few minutes from Somerset, only adding to its own sense of desriability. Several large public parks are located near the village of Somerset, and the Bristol Ridge Golf Course is also only a few minutes north of town as well.

Somerset Real Estate

Believe it or not, the Somerset real estate market is rather diverse, full of desirable and attractive options that range from newer construction residences in communities like Whispering Pines to older, more established single-family homes and bungalows that sit close to downtown Somerset. For home buyers looking to build their dream home from the ground up, you’ll also probably notice plenty of lots that are available on the market here as well, which sometimes start as low as $29,000.
