Wood Lake is a fairly large lake located in Burnett County, Wisconsin that spans 521 acres and has a maximum depth of 35 feet. As part of Wood River Township, home owners on Wood Lake are just a few short miles from the Fish Lake State Wildlife Area, not to mention miles and miles of open space and farmland that helps create one of the more peaceful atmospheres you’ll find in all of Western Wisconsin. State Road 70 runs just north of Wood Lake, providing home owners with an easy route to just about any other part of the region, including the nearby communities of Siren and Grantsburg. Like many Western Wisconsin lakes, Wood Lake features a variety of homes and cottages that list somewhere between $250,000 and $400,000, but every now and then you might see a larger home or cabin that sits on a nice chunk of property for between $600,000 and $700,000.
